Mekong-Lancang Peace Boat is a project that focuses on capacity building and policy-oriented research related to the Mekong region that centres on two main components: training programmes and book publication. The training programme serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, government officials, and journalists from Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam to broaden and deepen the understanding of Mekong affairs and international relations, acquire soft skills and expand the regional academic community of individuals and networks. In line with this, the book publication serves as a roadmap for greater development of the Mekong region through gathering policy advisers, scholars, researchers and practitioners to solicit inputs and synergise pragmatic policy recommendations on the impacts of great power geopolitical rivalries on security and development needs of the Mekong countries.
